Reality Forum is where reality TV meets its distant cousin—performance. Organized by Wojciech Kosma and June Berlin, it is a monthly screening and discussion group that tries to reimagine the genre that has come to be known as "unscripted television." Alongside viewing mainstream reality TV, the participants are also attempting to create their own idiosyncratic versions of it. Those versions are presented like performances—once and only within the context of the group. Anyone with an interest in reality TV or performance—fans, artist, actors, viewers, producers or critics—is welcome to participate.
In April we will follow up on some shows shown in our inaugural meeting, particularly the cringeworthy 90 Day Fiancé. To consider some formal "experiments" we will watch the unedited segment of the latest The Bachelor finale and counteract with the screening of some of the group's own works-in progress. Plus foreign shows and more reality TV badness.
